  • Haori and men’s formal wear.
Haori is like a cardigan, and it is also part of men’s formal wear.
The length of the Haori depends on what’s trendy at the time.
Haori for men and women has slightly different features.
There are different types of Haori-Himo that you can mix and match.
The highest level of men’s formal wear uses Haori with Mon in it.
There are different types of Mon.
Kamon (kah-moh-n) is a family crest, and different families have different designs.
But there are also a lot of families who don’t know their Kamon, so there are many generic Kamon they can use for their kimono.

I created a tag for this specific outfit, same way as there is the meiji schoolgirl uniform as it is very specific and pretty prevalent. Heres the jp wikipedia article on it I found, where i got the name too https://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%B4%8B%E4%BB%98%E7%BE%BD%E7%B9%94%E8%A2%B4

I see there's a tiny montsuki tag but it doesn't seem very cohesive? And doesn't actually refer to the outfit but just to a haori with a family crest, and a lot of the haori in there dont even have a crest (?) post #8797784

I'll either have to clean it up or make a seperate tag like the one i amde as its this most formal mens kimono i want to create a tag for, not a family creast specifically. Thats its own accessory @Damian0358

Ah, I see. The tag montsuki haori hakama seemed redundant with the way montsuki's wiki is rendered currently (and to a lesser extent, hakama's wiki too), especially as we also had montsuki-hakama as a tag that seemed redundant too. Feel free to revert my wiki edits and go ahead with your clean up of the tag(s).
