We don't know that Sensei is the only one that sees halos. All we know is that what Sensei sees isn't what the students see. Pregnancy halos don't make sense anyway, especially immediately after conception.

More so since the fetus wouldn't exactly be conscious.

The elaborate halos we see unique to each student are from Sensei's PoV. The students are implied to either see plain generic halos, or being unable to see them completely while still being aware of their existence somehow. (Officially they can't see "the design or the colors" of their halos, but are nonetheless still "aware" of them. It's kinda vague.)
