Another Uma wearing the 'ear' covers like Golshi yay!! Is there ever an explanation for these given in the Uma universe?
If they have an ear/hair decoration predominantly on the left side, then they were a mare in the real world. If it's on the right side, then they were a stallion in the real world. Fine Motion has fully balanced hair/ear decorations since she was rumored to be intersex.
As such, Lucky Lilac was a mare in the real world, and accordingly, her ear cover is on the left side.

Thanks! I remember hearing that a while ago, but I'm sorry I poorly explained 😅 I meant the two pads covering her human ears, if she had any. Golshi has those too I was just wondering if there was a explanation for them.

They're blinders/blinkers. They're placed on IRL horses to block their vision to the sides and rear to minimize spooking and distractions, letting them focus more on the front. Not sure how umamusume vision work but they do still kinda block peripheral vision a bit and maybe the pressure on the temples help with calming down and relieving tension in the muscles.
From a Doylist perspective, the blinders let the artists give umas a swept back hairstyle without worrying about the presence/absence of human ears. Golshi also wore blinders IRL while training (not when racing), so the blinders there may also be a reference. Don't think Lilac ever wore them though.
