But unlike the xbox or the playstation controllers, unless you have huge hands, you just can't position your thumb to use the analog and the D-pad to switch back and forth. And what the hell is up with the C buttons?
Well, nothing is as horrible as the Jaguar controller though.

This. There wasn't a single game for the console that required rapid movement between the three prongs. And something like 50-60% of them didn't use the pad at all.
The same reason she doesn't have an attack or activate buttons. No wonder she's doing so bad.
Also, I always had the ocarina on the leftmost c-button. It didn't matter if I hadn't or wasn't going to be using it for hours of gameplay, I left it there.
