The paleness wasn't a problem...i also notice a removal of a of the sadako references....and her tits got.....bigger (maybe back to size)? I think the original issue still remains that it was basically a reuse of old art.... I don't hate you Dishwasher if you ever check on art sites like this its just it wasn't fitting..... this is closer cause i see more sakura elements than horror elements but still.
I get why it happened and it wasn't just CN players ........(Atleast i hope since they can get insane). I do think there are massive worries about the time spent on Azur lane by Manjuu and Yostar these days and seeing reused art by artists makes them go even more insane and think quality control went out the window.
Taking a closer look at how the hair is rendered, (there are LOTS of individual hair strands) , also the faces, and the changes in the booba. I can see that this artwork was retouched by Yunsang.
One of the biggest complaints of CN Players was that it was not drawn by YS. So like with Nagato Meta. They called the original artist to retouch at as to calm down the CN players.

There have been plenty of META ships that aren't drawn by their original artists. It was never an issue before.

Most META ships don't use what amounts to updated fanart that existed before the concept of META shipgirls even existed. Mind you I personally don't dislike the design, or Dish, nor do I think anyone is justified in harassing any artist over things like these, however what I AM saying is that I can understand why some players (CN or otherwise) got angry over it.

It's a design that doesn't fit META ships, and also , we know that Chinese fans do not like undead skin. So Dish hit the wasp's nest really hard.

I mean, he was also getting death threats from people acting like he was being hired to do 90% of the art, when he's designed like 5 characters total and Taihou Meta is the only thing he's ever done that wasn't for a character he originally designed.

I don't hate to Dish, but saying, "He only designed 5 characters in total" is a bit disingenuous considering 3 of them are UR rarity, which is currently the most important group of ships in the game together with DR. As far as I know, only he, Kincora (3), and Kaede (4, but some people might not consider Bullin and Warspite retrofit to be that important) have drawn UR/DR that many so far.

Unfortunately for everyone - dish is an has for a long time been a drama queen, so of course now it is the time for him for loud proclamations and moaning. Playing the victim to garner pats on the back from his fans, and once they pat his ego back in he will be back to Azur Lane anyways. Of course while never admitting to any issues and criticism. So what that in the meantime the rabid section of his fanbase will likely militarize themselves and go on witchhunts against "haters".

He claims to have gotten such death threats. Although to be fair he probably got some sort of death threats, because really, who on the internet does something controversial and doesn't get any death threats for it? In any case - see the drama queen point above.
