Inktober day 5: Deep

This piece is a panel redraw from one of my favorite mangas, +Anima by Natsumi Mukai. It’s on page 12 of the first volume where Husky is introduced. I’ve drawn him almost every Inktober I’ve participated in. If you haven’t read the manga I highly recommend it. There’s nothing quite like a manga that went out of print over 15 years ago. This wasn’t my first idea for the prompt Deep. I went through a couple before I settled on Husky in his pot. I suppose the opening to the well may be small but the water can go incredibly deep. You never know how far down the bottom is or what lurks in the water. Maybe it’s like Devil’s Hole, the bottom of that underground lake has never been mapped. The pupfish there are cute. You know, Husky kind of looks like the pupfish with his blue tail and fins. His tail is forked rather than rounded though.
