For some reason and without any announcement, AL devs replaced the single layer version (post #7610297) with a more complete multi layer version.
It was announced in the patch notes for the latest update, as well as a few other places. The reason is so the skins fit better with the game's new UI, which has a lot more horizontal display space than the previous version did.
