    After bringing the overall tone up by one level, readjust and clean up the darker areas. Finally, do the finishing touches on the highlights using an orange that is close to white, and a white with hints of blue. Clean up the outer edges, and you're done!

    Now that the shadows have been painted with quite high contrast, bring up the tone of the entire image by one level to give it a whitish, pearlescent look.
    On top of the highlights blurred in Step 6, use a textured brush to finely paint in brighter colors for the highlights.

    There are tiny bits of reflection scattered along the bottom of the sphere, so paint those in using a high-transparency brush.
