    Pay attention to reflections and add more contrast/definition to the shading.
    Fill in a solid circle using a slightly bright beige.

    Paint the areas that will be darker, following the curve of the sphere.
    Direction of brush strokes / Keep the 3D sphere shape in mind
    Layer on even darker colors to bring out a sense of three-dimensional volume.
    Next, block out the positions for the highlights using rough circles.
    Even though it's a highlight, it turns orangey here because it's influenced by the reflection of a lamp light.
    By blurring this layer first, even if you draw a strong highlight on top of it later with a textured brush, it will look like it's floating deep inside. It makes blending much easier.
    Blur the circular highlights you just drew to make them blend in.
