It wasnt exactly what you'd call easy to fly.

Its the green grey version and Americans don't paint their 104 with green grey, only Italians do that with their 104S.

This was because the F-104G was modified as a fighter-bomber. Trying to use a rocket with wingstubs meant as interceptor as ground attack aircraft was begging for trouble. This and pilots inexperienced with this kind of aircraft earned the F-104G the reputation as widowmaker. Later on the Starfighter was well liked by its pilots.

All markings on the shown Starfighter are in Italian. That too could be a hint.
