I also heard that as well, but really, without a third version, how will they explain Kyurem? And there's the whole no move tutors thing, along with a lot of items being unavailable in the new gens right now. And there's the whole "Ghetsis isn't caught yet and N was spotted flying to a distant land somewhere" thing. I just really can't imagine that they wouldn't make a third game.

Your getting the inevitable third version confused with the possible Ruby and Sapphire remakes, where N will probably appear as an event or a hidden trainer.
Now, they know they can get a profit on a third game, and they need to get their money's worth out of the 3D engine they've made. On the other hand, the 3DS is probably going to force them to move to Gen 6 without doing any remakes, but that all depends on whether a remake would be profitable or not on the DS.
