To put a VERY long story short these two ended up fighting for plot reasons and kirika(girl in the background) would try to kill herself with her own weapon but shirabe took the attack from her, killing her. She comes back back after her ancestor or something (don't remember) gives up her life to save hers so realistically she probably should have that scar but i think it's just meant to reference that moment is why kirika is sad
