Aside from Japan, Dead or Alive has never been overly popular. Especially in the west, its overlooked for games like Sou Calibur and Tekken.

Hopefully Dead or Alive Dimensions might be able to increase the fanbase. It being a launch title for the 3DS. But somehow I doubt it, as two other DOA games came out near a major consoles launch and never caught on.
