NEWS: Today in Academy City, two middle school female students were found dead after jumping off a building. A Judgment Member tried to stop the two, but they jumped off trying to act cool but were unable to avoid death. This issue is being investigated of why the two jumped off the building...
I don't really get how Kuroko's "jump, then teleport close to where you want to be" antics work. Is it explicitly said that she cancels inertia every time she teleports? Because if she didn't, falling too far before teleporting closer to the surface you're trying to land one could still result in serious injury.
Try falling a "mere" five feet--even if you land on your feet, it's still very painful in the best of circumstances and injurious at the worst. People have been killed just by tripping and falling on level ground.
There's also the question of practicality. If she wants to "leap tall buildings in a single bound" she doesn't need to jump or physically move at all--she can just see the point she wants to teleport to, teleport there, then recover, and then repeat the process until she's done. I guess the "jump, then teleport so you never fall more than 2 or 3 feet" is a cooler albeit slightly less efficient way to move, but it still doesn't answer the question of whether Kuroko cancels inertia when teleporting or not.
Well, depending on your teleport orientation, you can make it so that your momentum is moving away from the ground you are about to stand on. For example, falling headfirst and then teleporting so your feet are below your head allows the conservation of momentum to assist in giving you a soft landing.
