There's a certain uncanny offness to it, which more than explains why her design was reworked in both color palate and especially eye shape. Though Mari is very much the innocent sort (even if the fandom loves to make her an absolutely sinful ball of lust), this design makes it clear that she's Seen Some Shit, which actually ties into a headcanon of mine concerning her.

It's the eyes. It doesn't really fit to whatever the devs plan on. Which is a good thing they redesign Mari a bit.
