If I remember right, the koto has a load of romantic/love connotations. And Koishi has those heart-shaped bullets and connotations of her own. I think that's the irony. Or, possibly, because the single most influential koto person was blind, and out of the three of them, Koishi's the only one who can't see out of her third eye.

Yeah, this is what I was talking about. "Itinerant musician" was a profession more or less reserved for the blind in medieval Japan and China, with the koto being one of the more popular.
