Iona rightfully considered herself a brilliant girl. Through her perseverance and diligent work, she managed to get into the best university in the country. How many of you know what it’s like to wake up in the morning, sit down with books, and take notes from textbooks all day long? Not for 3-4 hours, but literally the entire day. She would only go to bed when she could no longer grasp the meaning of the sentences she read. The words themselves began to frighten her. She saw the letters that made up these words, knew the sounds that belonged to these letters, but she could no longer recall the meaning behind the combination of these letters. She would fall asleep even before her head touched the pillow. And in the morning, upon waking, she allowed herself to luxuriate in bed for a bit, secretly enjoying the realization that such a powerful and great mind resided in such a beautiful and petite body. This gave her the strength and motivation to spend another day with her textbooks.
