And that's where you make your fatal mistake, Akyuu. Only Batman can be Batman. Sorry for getting your hopes up, everyone. Unless Chen turns into Green Lantern, I think we're done here.
Well, as far as Perfect Memento says, Mystia is one of the youkai who actively attack humans. It would make sense that she's more vicious than one would otherwise expect from the doujin versions.
Akyuu, there is such a thing as inventing an attack right on the spot. Previous data, in this case, doesn't really help.
I'm still thinking underdog will win though. I'm hoping not, I like Mystia and want to see her some more. But with Akyuu hit like that, I don't think Chen will simply sit still, and Akyuu herself isn't totally out of the game yet, the hit doesn't look that fatal or deep.
This would be a perfect time for Chen to suddenly power up, though I admit the first round is a bit early for that (plus all the other unnamed requirements)...
Seriously, Tenshi and Mysti have already seen through their first strat. Barring a strat change (Akyuu doesn't look to be in any condition to focus anymore) or a sudden berserk button, the odds are really against them.
... JUSTICE!!! That's what you get for underestimating Mystia. The fight may not be over yet, ut it sure doesn't look good when it's 2 versus 1 1/2(and that 1/2 couldn't really fight in the first place, just inflict status effects). Oh I'm saving this pic~

Even the Bat can be broken.
WHERE IS YOUR BATGOD NOW?

If you ask me, the reason Mystia got the attack in is because she isn't going by habit or anything..she was following the sound, since she couldn't see. When your sight is gone, you use a whole different set of movements to make up for it.
I figure the next page will have an explanation of Why Didn't It Work, and then we'll get into the last all-or-nothing phase of the fight.
While this tournament is rooted more in What Makes A More Exciting Narrative than actual power levels, I'd think that it's fine for the non-underdogs to win as long as SOMETHING is gained and learned at the end by the "underdog team". Kind of "yeah, we didn't win, but we improved our understanding of each other".
In this case, probably Akyuu learning about the obvious counter to her I Know Every Move skill (ie be unpredictable) and Chen learning independence or something.
If Akyuu and Chen still plan to win this fight it's going to be a fight relying on will power alone, that would make this fight boring and predictable, so I think this fight should end here already with Mystia explaining why the attack didn't work...
Or maybe Akyuu is just trolling us that she's hurt so badly, but in fact she has a trick up her sleeves to guaranteed victory...

The next match will most definitely reach Kanako levels of fanservice.

Slash!Ze-...Wh-...What...!?No, wait!! Akyuu has been able to stay out of the attacks until now...Thud!A- Akyuu!...but at last, she has fallen prey to Mystia's claws! The lookahead parsing...didn't work! Why is she suddenly...using a move not from the data...!?
