Blacktoro looks nothing like nagatoro and not that good art to be honest. Should not be that surprising people disliked it.
This looks like nagatoro with just different skin and hair colour, not completely changed features.

Read that again. He was criticizing the people who were complaining about black Nagatoro while not complaining about white Nagatoro.
If someone is truly against Asian characters being depicted as black, they should be equally against them being depicted as white. If they’re okay with black Nagatoro, then they should be fine with white Nagatoro too. It’s being hypocritical about it that’s the problem.
