Methinks it would be difficult to make anything that looks specifically like the candycane sword she uses. It could also be that they don't want to influence the convention-goers into thinking it's okay to bring (real-ish) swords. I dunno, I lack the political knowledge.

I think the real question is that whether or not the Panty cosplayer is currently wearing panties or not.

I wish we had the second amendment for edged weapons at cosplay shows but...
