Maybe they confuse style with quality? Typewriter text is very old fashion after all.

Is this the first example of Akagi² you've seen? I'm asking because the "War Diary" monologues are a bit of a running gag that Akagi-chan and Hiei-chan have indulged in. They're also historically accurate. Here's an example of Tirpitz's war diary:

Every ship for every navy had one that logged every pertinent detail of a mission, and they were the product of typewriters. Shipboard war diaries across nations were rather uniform, so I imagine this adherence to a universal legibility was intentional.

I use a specifically different font for spoken dialog, as you can plainly see here.

I really haven't known that I could see disapprover reasons until I saw this one. I'm not even clear on the process or who gets to decide.

I am grateful to have another outlet hosting my comic, though.
