Ugh, this is so true. I sometimes dislike eating noodle soup in Chinese and Vietnamese restos because they add too many coriander/cilantro. Acquired taste my balls, it completely ruins it.
Can't stand coriander because the flavor/taste seriously overpowers everything, but Chinese and Viet cooking uses so much of it, so as an Asian, it's nearly impossible to avoid it. I've grown somewhat use to it by now, but if I can, I still try to take them out of my food.
Why?It completely ruins the taste, and I suggest that everyone try it at least once for yourself. This miso soup's weird.....It smells fishy, I can't drink it...Isn't it normal?......Could this possibly be--?That's coriander.I see... so the source of this raw smell is because you added coriander to the miso soup...Eh!? Why is that so!?It tastes normal, and it's delicious!!A few days later, she was completely laughed at by her sister who is (also) married to a Japanese.Hahahaha!!
Adding coriander to miso soup
HahahaEh!?It's unappetizing and I can't drink it.I really can't drink this...Eh?
