I think that's a rifle of some sort, the "sword" part is just an oversized bayonet of some sort.

I think it's more of a Sword that so happens to look like a rifle. For one, there is no trigger, nor is there a barrel.

There is a barrel. It's the black piece above (to the right of, in the image) the pink. Looks like the tube-under-barrel shotgun design, though I'm sure it isn't one. It also has a gigantic version of the sniper rifle thumb-hole. It's a wacky thing to be sure.
