It's really a mix. The ball and the name of the skin being Brilliant Touchdown suggest American Football, whereas the design and position of the goal posts suggests Rugby (the posts used to be positioned and shaped as such in American Football until the 1970s). American Football would typically also have distinct coloring for the endzone and numbering on the field.
