Of all the ships to make the copy Cherino, it'd to be the KGV class. The design is good but that's not my problem with her. She break the consistence of the class and besides seem to be meant as a sub originally... And that swim ring is simply out of place

I still think this was Barham and they did another Emerald-Manchester thing for no reason. She'd be alright next to QE and Valiant. The fact that we'll never finish the KGV sisters with a huge drillhair girl just because Manjuu wanted to do a gag character doesn't sit well with me. They kept up the KGV design aesthetic for five good characters just so they could close it on what is already the most community panned design I've ever seen?

I need some pandering if they expect me to pick up Promilia, not to have the art team thumb their noses at me.

So instead of trying to work in literally anything related to George Anson, Father of the British Navy, they decided to make her Cherino... for no reason?

Edit: Honestly it's even worse when there's so much one can do with the IRL HMS Anson as a basis for personality. There's rumors that Anson the ship never fired her guns against enemy ships at all. Plus, her service history was mostly overwatch of escorts, diversionary tactics, and ultimately not really being crucial to the war effort. Could've written her as a meek woman who wants to prove herself, but instead we got a mesugaki who walked in from Blue Archive in FUCKING CROCS.

It could be HMS Centurion since QEs are lollies and she is older than QE she could also be a loli, Centurion used to portray HMS Anson during WW2 therefore glorious Mustache, It also plays well in April Fools, but the problem with this is that Cenurion was not fited with (even fake) QF-5.2 guns which are seen on her rig,

Centurion and Anson badges aren’t the one used in the model here. And QEs aren’t all lolis. That’s mostly QE. Warspite isn’t necessarily a Loli. She’s just kinda short. Valiant…it’s atrocious that people still calling her a Loli, she looks no different than most cruisers and battleship characters.

The delay's most likely to accommodate a complete redesign of Anson, one that toes the line more with the blonde hair-large breasts-red clothes archetype of the class (but if they do keep her blue hair, I guess that's fine as a compromise). But that means it's going to be back to the drawing board, with the revisions and adjustments and all, not to mention the seiyuu would have to redo her lines to sound more mature.

With this revelation, I believe we need to rename the existing tag for this Anson to add the _(old_design) qualifier if they indeed redesigning Anson from the ground up.

I think I now understand how Yahtzee felt when Aliens: Colonial Marines came out...

And I would just like to bring up that Azur Lane has literally hundreds of artists working on it and new ones are constantly brought in. When people say "too many cooks spoil the soup", this is what they mean.

Yeah, I hope they won't just scrap this one, it's not a bad design but after learning about all the background information I agree that she doesn't really fit in with the rest of the designs of her class.

The character designer isn't the one that does the rigging, most artists they hire have never drawn guns, ships, vehicles, or even anything mechanical, at least not to the level seen on most AL characters, so there's no way they're providing anything more than the character. That's why the rigging is accurate (to the ship claimed to be represented) when the character is seemingly the result of miscommunication.

The design isn't.. that bad..? Ok, maybe change things a bit, get rid of that yeye ass mustach, tell her to drop that rig and have her waddle over to the SS Ship Type with the other swimsuit lolis with her goofy ass squeaky Crocs.

But what really baffles me is that out of everyone in the lead team who worked on the update, nobody considered the stark different between the blue emma_august ripoff over the 4 aristocratic ladies of the KGV line.

I suppose all we can do now is wait and see, if she ever returns in some way. I'd imagine she'll gain some sort of status as "The CV who became an SS."

This, i have the feeling that Manjuu is struggling with quality control when they have several third party artists to reach and talk to in order to keep producing with their event schedules. Probably is time for Manjuu to slow the phase, i mean the game is 7 years old already.

Also is very sad for RN fans that due to the backlash the best solution that Manjuu could come with is replacing her with a KMS shipgirl.

This. This right here. When you have so many artists working on designs, especially other artists' designs, you get cases where the art has missed quality control. Reno's glove saying "BB-34 New York" on it, Pennsylvania's skin having the scar on the wrong side, Manchester wearing the badge for HMS Emerald...

I hope this incident forces Manjuu to do better in the future, and I hope they bring back this girl as HMS Sunfish, like people want.
