1st: It's an Anime, and that's a Visor.
Due to the Fact, that She's having Butterfly-Wings, it's highly possible, that the Entire Surface of this Visor is working like a Digicam-Sensor, resulting in giving her enhanced Vision.

2nd: She's an Anime-Character, thus Physical age and Real age may differ(in "Mahoraba Heartful Days", the 18-Year-old Main-Character, and the Landlady look younger, this also goes for Konata from LuckyStar and her mother).

Also, mental age and physical age differ from species to species.
Remember the race, Kes(StarTrek Voyager) was from, they barely reach the age of 10Years(average Livespan of 9Years according to Wikipedia).
Also, the mental development of a Digimon is mainly going on it's Level, reaching from Child-like purity when being up to rookie and a Teenager or Adult on Champion-Level.
But there are actually also known characters, that don't seem mature even when reaching the Mega-Level(like MarineAngemon).
Thus making them mentally like how they look like most of the Time.
So, if someone looks like an Super-Evil-Being, it's most times that way.

Anime, cartoon. It's still an animated character. There's no need to be so technical. But I do agree, age is revelent when the character isn't real. Unless she was say, really childlike in appearance, then that'd be cause for concern.

Besides, Izumi is 13-14, but as Kazemon she could be any where from twice that to maybe even centuries considering hwo long ago the legendary warriors were around.

As for Zoey (Izumi) being 13 or 14, like everyone said, she's an anime character, and I have to agree that Fairymon (Kazemon) is prolly twice that or older like xRatchetx said...
