The reason why it's upside down is because if you flip it over you see that her head is about to hit the ground. She jumped off, and while she was falling she was thinking to herself how her life really wasn't that bad - it's too late.

On the bright side, people manage to survive some really, incredibly ridiculous things sometimes.

I like that the shadown under/above her head looks like an inverted halo.
