Aw, that's not entirely true. There are many other homonid pokemon, even one's resembling females. Jinx, for example. Many of the fighting ones are human in appearance, though admittedly male. Perhaps with the exception of hitmonchan. I think that much of the obsession with Gardevoir stems from her pokemon description. In most of her entries within the games, it is stated that she syncs up with her master's mind, and develops an incredibly close bond to the master, such as one in love. The idea of a master/servant role, combined with the unconditional love on the part of the servant is an attractive thought. This thought also would suggest a curious innocence on the part of the Gardevoir, which is shown in much of the fan driven artwork via her bashful nature. Though, I must say that in many of the artists... depictions of Gardevoir, she is much, much more human. Look up the official nintendo art.

That...was freaking amazing!! Props to Sammy. That is the best description on why most fans love our beloved Gardie soo much and why they draw soo much hentai and other fan work of her.
I have no idea why his/ her (?) comment was voted down, but I'm gonna vote it up and bump this.
This image is cute as hell, it almost seems like Gardie is (in some insanely cute and strangely innocent way) trying to arouse her master's approval. (as well as something else...*wink wink*)
Props to the artists, to the poster of this image, and to Sammy for his/her enlightening explanation!!
They are known for being dangerously humanoid and feminine. I'm pretty sure she was made like that to see how much speculation and fanart would come up.
