This moron really believes that if it just pretends hard enough that generations of male nerds haven’t outright celebrated the likes of John Carter, Tarzan, Conan, He-Man, etc. running around with oiled abs and micro-kilts, that the rest of the world will just develop amnesia and ignore that the only double-standards in regards to titillating material are all coming from “safe horny” Internet hall-monitors, bara-enthusiasts, and insecure female critics who collectively screech like Victorian pastors at the moral peril that is a fictional hot woman showing so much as a hint of cleavage even as they drool over blonde underwear models named Chris.

I feel like something is always missing from these conversations. There are lots of things aimed at women and designed by women for women….so why DONT we see more male fanservice and “”objectification””?

Honestly seems a fair argument. I myself prefer consistency within the series I watch and read. It's rather annoying with series where the female characters are all mostly naked with their uniforms or armor, and the guys are so covered up it's like they're vampires who'll burn up if sunlight hits any part of them.
The worst though is definitely when it's a uniform inconsistency because then the characters literally had no choice in the attire they're wearing, the school or organization just arbitrarily requires females to dress as strippers and guys to be boring and bland as hell.

They're both swimsuits with extras. The female suit is just a bikini with the leg and arm straps, and the male one is just a men's thong with the same straps and then a chest harness. They're consistent in that they both build upon a risque swimsuit.

That's just poor description of every clothing. This is just false equivalence. Only thing that's same are the limbs. There's no reality where a harness with a choker and a cross slings are same things. Men's crop top exists already too if the artists insists that men must wear tops like a bikini.
This is just being ignorant of basic available clothing.

Is all I hear from this post where people are discussing the double standards of character design and this artists flawed beliefs on the matter.

It's not whether the men's outfit is revealing or not, it's that it's not equivalent. Swimsuits and gimp gear are not comparable outfits.
