    Tawawa on Monday No.463 "Kakizome? Yeah, yeah, I know what you really mean."

    Kakizome (書初め) is the first calligraphy written at the beginning of a year, traditionally done using ink rubbed with the first water drawn from the well on New Year's Day.

    To be fair, this is the busiest time of year for shrines. It's practically a tradition at this point, right down to yet another character mentioning making the Kakizome with "tawawas" 🤣

    While it may not be a tie-in to the main series, he DID do a New Year's/Year of the Dragon tie-in with Tawawa Isekai in post 7040531

    Did you even bother to read the translation of the commentary that I provided just half an hour before you made your comment, where I explained that the depicted practice is a New Year's Day thing in Japan?
