Basically, yeah. The Exit 8 is essentially a "spot the difference" game where you are walking through the same corridor over and over with the goal of getting to exit 8. If the corridor looks completely normal you just keep going forward, whereas if there's anything off with it (ranging from a poster changing slightly to the businessman walking at 3x speed) you instead turn around and walk the way you came from.
Picking the wrong option resets the exit # counter to 0, which probably means that the joke here is that these characters are somehow considered normal nope, it's actually that the staff (?) is too used to weird shit like this (based on a MTL of the commentary).
