Well that and there's really not much in canon so far that links them.in this sort of way.

At the most their relationship feel like very good friends or a father looking out for their daughter.

I really miss the days of old when we could all enjoy our favourite pairings be they straight, gay or bi, be they official or in doujinshi and still be able to meet the middle and enjoy games and series together. Now we have all these crusaders, mostly on twitter, harassing and threatening anyone who likes a pairing they don't.
