Ok, why does the suit have nipples?

So, I just watched the original Getter robo, and I think like 2 episodes in they added these nipples to her suit. At first I thought it was just something some animator added in, but then it reappeared consistently in every episode, and they got a lot of prominent screen time. That's pretty bold for 1973.

I thought it was 1974.

This reminds of other old shows with traces of nudity, such as pool scenes, bath scenes or wardrobe scenes, with little to no censorship in from this era which makes me question how bold some of it was or if it was just a social norm long gone. Of course, pool and wardrobe-changing scenes are practical and within the realm of common sense, whereas explicit clothing protrusions like this, are not. I wonder how bold it is, in hindsight.
