If the spirit of Meiling was not trying to comfort the crying Flan I might have agreed with you. Its still possible but I think its more a more heartbreaking reason

• From Sweet Potato-san's drawing of MeilingXFlandre, the idea of a protective Meiling keeps floating in my mind but with a slight difference. My Meiling is more like with a sort of duty like "It would be bad if you couldn't smile everyday", and there are more I have been thinking. That's why she won't use her ability on an opponent like Flandre, eh?

I wonder if it's a playtime gone wrong. I see sunlight and the fact that Flan is behind Meiling makes this hard to call but one thing is for sure it is heartbreaking
