If you have ever had a knife thrown at you, trust me it looks like a sword

In before SAKUYA NO WARUDO...

I have been thinking that sakuya's weapons are more like daggers than knives.

My first thought was that Sakuya is using some sort of time-dilation effect to increase the knives' apparent lengths.

...anyone here know relativity theory?

Uh the faster something goes near the speed of light, the shorter it looks to an outside observer.

But then again this is Gensokyo where even gravity, let alone the theory of relativity, is often broken.

Try "persistence of vision"; it makes rapidly moving objects appear as streaks, and keeps you from seeing the flashing of fluorescent lights.
