I think Fami is also on the spectrum as well, but primarily presents with Schizoid Personality Disorder. Her autistic traits are fun to observe, but Asa is just alright in comparison. Asa peaked with the aquarium chapters though, her idea of an interesting date was certainly amusing.
Bullshit. You don't *have* autism, you *are* autistic, in the same way that you *are* blind and don't *have* blindness. And any REAL autist would rather burn this t-shirt for this affront to grammar than wear it.

I'm on the spectrum, and I don't really care which one you use. I'll usually use whichever one feels more natural at the moment myself.
People were right to criticize the mandatory use of person-first language in professional fields and the like, but mandating the use of condition-first language shares many of the same problems. I really don't think these efforts are going to have a substantial effect. "Autistic" may technically be the correct term, but there are more important things to focus on imo.
Now I have heard there are other problems with shirts like this, but I haven't really looked into it that much.

Fuck it, since this does relate to me.
I sort of figure that the 'any real autist' line is an absurdity. I really don't give a fuck how people couch terminology since I think most people I care about probably think about the nuances of this as much as I do, and if this were to bother me, I don't think that there is anything about the diagnosis part of it that gives me the right to tell other people who share it how to feel or act about it.
I'd want people to feel healthy. But for me, I'd wear this type of shirt as a light-hearted thing to make fun of people who coddle me, but probably just around the house for a giggle.
