This is part of an ongoing protest against upcoming invoice regulations in Japan. Japanese artists are strongly against the regulations as they are intended to impose additional taxes onto freelancers, leading to a lot of extraneous paperwork, and they will also require pseudonymous artists to have their legal name on public record. The new regulations were announced last year, but as we approach the scheduled implementation date in October, people are likely to become more agitated.
