would that even work according to perfect momento youkai are damn tough and can take injurys that would be fatal to humans.

Usually you decapitate the youkai to kill it, that gun might actually do that, even if its not fatal/ It will be painful and might not heal immediately, not to mention it would be hell to clean up.
