You are silly. The sprites in KOF XII and XIII are still 2D, only more smoothly animated.

Why do people go nuts over this slut? I'll take Vice & Vanessa over her any day of the week.

SNK announced that the game will be coming out sometime late this 2010, even now, they still haven't confirmed all the characters who will be in it.

Plus Mai with more boobage ftw.

Actually, 3D models were used as intermediaries in the sprite creation process to make the animation smoother. Original 2D character art is rendered into 3D, they figure out how they want the characters to animate, and then they flatten the models and use them as a base to create 2D sprites. Or something. Read it on Kotaku, and Wikipedia.

Mai's forehead is huge, it made her lose some of her charm.

I'm pretty sure they have always done this. I remember reading something about SNK doing this with a lot of their fighting games even during the Neo-Geo days, first making simple 3D models wich they animate and then trace the animations into 2D sprites. Or was it motion capture of some kind they used? Either way, the results have always been and will always be smoothly animated and gorgeous. :)

Does rotoscoping also count as motion capture?

I remember hearing once they used that for the Last Blade and Garou sprites.

nope, this is not a 3D model. it's a 2D sprite in high definition because ps3 and xbox360 have the potential for a better resolution. this is why it looks so beautiful animated and the colors are more live

They're not saying that. They're pointing out that 3D models were used in the creation of this sprite.
