Goddamn it, first they turn Ymir into some soulless bdsm/ alchemist cross and now they've gone and turned Aldra all cutesy. I'm tired of seeing all this "omg her boobs got bigger yay" rubbish. She made an infinately more interesting character in her previous form. I mean seriously, a spiked codpiece, a demonic eye and a sword reduced to a fucking ladle and giant shamoji? What the hell were they thinking?
Hmm. I'm sure that ploy is supposed to be novel in some way. Thankfully though I'm not that excrutiatingly lonely, so it's still not much of a selling point. As ever I'm sure there are plenty of otaku fanboys out there that will eat it right up. The only reason I'm pre-ordering the new Aldra book is for the limited edition Revol-Tech figure based on her original character design, so there's hope for us fans of old-school Aldra yet.
I find the whole "you're her hubby" thing hilarious but yeah, to me Aldora will always have that sly, confident grin and giant sword. I'm glad to see the spiked codpiece gone because it frightened me, but I'm not considering this an improvement.
