I dunno, I liked the relationship between Fran and Balthier. Very Chewbacca and Han Solo, except with a hot bunny girl who can actually talk. Leads to a lot of fun, sarcastic exchanges.
Although I will admit there was some development with Revenant Wings. In FFXII I wanted there to be a relationship between these two, but I'm kinda glad it waited until they were actually the main characters.
