This looks very close to an actual painting! I love it! It even looks like she took the red paint/blood that is dripping from the bird cage and splattered it on the painting.
Reminds me one movie, where every bad deed of protagonist was reflected by changes of his portrait. The bigger asshole he became in real life, the nastier monster he was on the portrait. Don't know about any movie, but the novel The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde bears a striking resemblance to what you described. They probably made a movie out of it; it was one hell of a book.
