Do they really count as tengu-geta in that configuration? Now, they're basically just a variant of regular high heels. I'm pretty sure even a regular human would be able to balance on those.

Its tengu geta because it has a single long peg not because a tengu wears it. If Aya wore regular geta they would remain regular geta!
Honestly I don't think these are geta as they aren't sandals (no strap) and are merely high heels fashioned to look similar to tengu geta.
I'd say stylized geta are still geta. They're clearly fashioned to resemble tengu-geta. Aya's canon footwear are literally just regular looking shoes with a single prong like tengu-geta, and we still tag them as tengu-geta.

I've actually always assumed Aya buys regular shoes and has the platforms added on. If you look at a lot of her pairs, they still have the low heel on the back they would if they were normal shoes, even though that is completely pointless (it can't reach the ground, so why add it)?
It's a but like Utsuho and her concrete shoe, besides wondering how she can walk (let alone fly) with a huge lump of concrete on her leg, there is the fact that a lot of pictures don't even give it a flat bottom, so she wouldn't be able to balance on it. And lets not get to the fact it is canon she can take it off and put it on without trouble (which should require at least a hammer and chisel, if not a jackhammer!)
