I would put it more as she is smiling her last smile as she remembers that she forgot that ground is hard.

This is EXACTLY what I thought when I first played the game

Hmmm... pressing Shift key plus left or right navigational key will make the playing character rise up and move quickly from the direction that was pressed.

In Alice's case, the dolls would drag her up until she recovers from lying...

and now I think, if these two dolls damaged Alice this much, what would happen if Alice (for some stupid reason) got G-Doll to do the teching instead.
