Flying, like walking, probably requires concentration. Just like walking, hitting an unseen object would most likely cause one to lose focus, and thus, balance. Assuming the foreign object remains stationary, one would most likely begin to rotate, the part touching the object being the pivot point. In this case, one's face rotates directly into the ground.
