YD confirms he drew Regensburg and the mecha dragon: https://twitter.com/ydh2101/status/1660283323267309569 Also interesting because many people say riggings are drawn by other artists but definitely not in this case.
They're not even bothering with the riggings any more. Like, hooray for fat tits and bodysuit, but I'm not exactly keen on the giant fuck-off robot dragon.

I could see this design working for a UR or a maybe a Main fleet ship, but it's a bit much for a light cruiser especially.

Dude, how are you okay with that hideous outfit... But you take offense with the badass rigging?? Like, the swimsuit is even worse too.. ðŸ˜

The rigging is just a metal lizard with some guns slapped onto it. Not very grounded in reality like the riggings of older shipgirls - think Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Yorktown, Richelieu, Warspite, etc. And the swimsuit is just coomer bait at the end of the day...
It really feels like all the artists saw Aegir and decided that was the green light to just go nuts with the Iron Blood riggings. At least with Bismarck it makes some sense since she's a UR.

For those who didn't play Azur Lane:
Bisko Zwei's riggings are created like that because of lore reasons.
During previous event where she came into contact with Black Cube her hull (basically the lifeline of a ship = the thing that anchors a shipgirl existence in material world) gets corrupted by METAfication. Commander, which dove into simulated universe of how Shipgirls came to be brought back the theory that you can 'offload' a ship's damage into a second Wisdom Cube, and that technology was used in both Yorktown II and Bismarck Zwei. Bismarck's gear Geryon specialized in resisting the effect of corruption, which is the reason why it's both autonomous (can operate as an individual outside of Bismarck's control) and self-limiting (Geryon can receive corruption without transferring the corruption to Bismarck).
