Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus). Spreads dengue fever, yellow fever, Chikungunya fever, heartworms and Zika. Invasive species and spreads worldwide via maritime shipping (especially the used tires trade), displacing native, less harmful mosquitoes in the process. Also has a tendency to bite multiple times.

The Asian tiger mosquito is also extremely agile (compared to other mosquitoes) and can be nearly impossible to swat. It can also fly extremely silently, and both the adults and larvae are more resistant to the usual methods of mosquito control for other mosquito species.

I know the irl counterpart is harmful and all, but I still feel kinda bad for this one, cause in this one she seems to be well-meaning.

I'm surprised she isn't retaliating. Realistically, she should, but I guess the artist thinks she's too cute not to.
