    I certain my translation is technically accurate, but I can't tell whether this is meant to be interpreted as the girl learning about a Japanese word or one in her own language (the dialogue in post #6296988 seems to imply the two of them are not Japanese). Because of this, I considered leaving 愛おしい (itoushii), the word in question, in Japanese, but decided to translate it in the end. If there's some subtlety I missed or if there's a better way to portray this, feel free to fix it.
