War had broken out in Fódlan, but right now, the ongoing conflict was the least of Petra’s concerns.

Unrest in her home country of Brigid had festered, with resentment growing against the Empire who held them as a vassal state. As princess of Brigid, her decision to side with her professor, and thereby Edelgard, had only stoked the flames of anger from those who despised Adrestia. Her return home was supposed to help calm her people, and eventually rally them in the war…

It was not supposed to lead to rebellion.

Petra had barely caught the warning signs in the middle of one of her hunts: the sudden dispersing of birds and the stifled crunches of leaves along the forest. Her blade came up in a defensive stance – months of training under her professor flooding back to her. But, as the men finally revealed themselves from under the foliage, she realized just how outnumbered she was. One against ten wasn’t good odds.

Swift as she was on foot, and true as her strikes were, the difference in numbers proved to be too much. Her only saving grace was their seeming desire to capture her alive, but all it took was a single misstep for her fate to be sealed. Her arm extended out for too long, opening up a chance for it to be grappled and wrestled down along with her sword – her only weapon ripped from her grip to leave her defenseless against the much stronger men surrounding her.

Of all things to call her, they called her the traitor, even as they pinned down their would-be monarch. She kicked, struggled, and screamed in resistance, but such efforts were useless in such a hopeless situation. They stripped her of her ceremonial garb, replacing it with ropes that would restrain even the feistiest of captives.

Everyone in Brigid was a hunter, after all, and tying a strict knot was a vital skill. A rope harness bound her bare chest, trapping her arms behind her back, but with so many spare strands and pairs of hands, there was little reason to stop there. An intricate pattern was woven around her legs, and they began connecting the entire tie to a large, metal pole, making transportation easy.

The most humiliating part came with what they did to her undergarments – first ripping off the pink pair and using the now-open space to add something very sturdy to the suspension. Then, the balled up garments were shoved in-between her open lips, silencing the last of her cries as a wooden bit which followed held the cloth in her mouth.

With the princess successfully conquered, captive, and a hostage of her own people now, none would dare rise up against this growing faction of Brigid.

All that was left was to show the people of Brigid the state of their former heir, and the men that would be replacing her.
