Makes me wonder why she was not popular enough to appear more often. I don't follow american comics, so I found out she existed only through X-Men Children of the Atom, some 16-Bit games and her appearence in some trading cards. When it comes to movies, cartoons and most games it was like she was wiped from the face of the earth then replaced by Jean Grey, Rogue or Storm.

Wasn't she in X Men Apocalypse?

Yes. But I'm talking before the Millenium. I just found out she indeed appeared on only one episode of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992), never saw that one. She appears on a DOS game, a SNES game and a Genesis game. Konami totally ignored her for the arcade game and Capcom put so much attention she almost looked created by them. After the 2000's Activision indeed take her into account but was ignored for the first two X-Men movies. It's just that for a 1976 character I hoped she would appear more often like Cyclops or Wolverine, probably I was asking too much.

Because she's not narratively interesting. She's not romantically involved, no real unique angst, no strong motivation. Besides eye candy, Psylocke really doesn't have much going for her. The spear counterpart being Gambit where there's no character besides being a cool sexy dude.

I'm not a avid comic book reader, but from what I've read she does appear pretty often in them.
now as for why she isn't seen more often in adaptations, we'll... Characters like Cyclops or Jean were part of the original 5, which gives them a special statue and make them into main characters for the franchise as a whole, Wolverine or Storm were part of the relaunch team and have some of the coolest power sets...
Meanwhile, Psylocke isn't central to the X-men lore as a whole like characters like Magneto, doesn't have a strong tie to a particularly important character, and psychic blades aside, her powers are not particularly unique. So there's no particular priority to include her over other characters. Especially before the 2000, where games didn't have the storage to include dozens of characters.
heck compared to most X-men she had a lot of appearances. A-listers like Cyclops or Wolverine are the exception.

I now realize I simply fell in love with the Capcom adaptation, so I unknowingly expected something quite similar from the rest Marvel included. I only knew about the X-Men through the games after all. Nothing to blame but my ignorance on the subject. Oh well, at least I can still keep my memories.
